ara Larsson has her eyes set on global domination. Her second album, “So Good,” came out on in March. It is the first international release for Larsson, who is already a star in Sweden. “It feels so good to have my record out – that I can actually go here and tell people, ‘Check out my album’ and stuff,” Larsson said in an interview on Monday. “But it’s definitely difficult because it’s so big – it’s really, really big,” she said, referring to the American market.

“It feels so good to have my record out, that I can actually go here and tell people, check out my album and stuff. But it’s definitely difficult because it’s so big, it’s really, really big,” Larsson said of the U.S. “You got to go around to all these radio stations in person and be like, ‘hey’, you know. And there’s a lot of radio stations in America. So it takes awhile, it’s a lot of hard work, but you know, I won’t stop. So I’ll just continue to do what I do,” she added. The singer began her career at the age of 10 after winning the Swedish talent show “Talang” in 2008, and is already a certified star in Europe with the 2013 platinum hit “Uncover” and chart topping singles “Lush Life” and “Never Forget You.”

In February she won the artist of the year prize at Sweden’s Grammis Awards and a MTV Europe Award in 2016. The 15-track album is Larsson’s second album, but first international release. Larsson said she didn’t have a specific message for her new album, but it does have clear themes.

“My kind of picture for it was just to create a really good collection of pop songs. Of great pop songs that make my feel good and makes me feel something. So I don’t really have a vision for it. But when you look at it now when it’s finished, I do agree with you, it’s fun, it’s positive, it’s uplifting and empowering. And maybe it’s just a reflection of what I am and what I think is important.”

Larsson has become known for her social commentary as much as her voice, using her social media platforms to speak on politics and women’s rights. “I just grew up in an environment that allowed me to really question everything all the time. And in school I just like to criticize, not really criticize, but just to be extra aware of things and I want to question things. I was always the one who was like, ‘is it really that way, is it really?'”

It’s not frequently you meet a millennial who doesn’t investigate their Instagram everyday, however Zara Larsson isn’t your normal millennial.
